Michael is another of our self-taught artists. He has learned the photographic trade by studying the masters and then using his own vision to interperet what he sees in the viewfinder. Most of Michael's current work is night photography, preferring the long exposures which allow for the light itself to become the magic of the image rather than the subject matter. Michael works only with traditional films and cameras.

Michael's work is silver gelatin fiber prints done by hand, then archival processed, mounted and matted. Framing is available. Each piece is a part of a signed, numbered limited edition. West Michigan PhotoWorks is pleased to be the exclusive dealer for Michael Smith's work.
